We started the day out with a delightful set of Celtic tunes from harpist Janet Naylor, followed by the kids' set from Rich Glauber who sang lots of oldies like "Side By Side" and "You Make Me Feel So Young" with his friend Tom, and then one of our Old SLUG Queens Scarlett O'Slimera joined him for some more kid favorites.
Next up, for the first time at Market, Howard Steele from Monroe:

As you might guess from the Stetson hat, Howard sang real country tunes filled with cowboys and railroads and lots of yodeling, really beautiful expert yodeling. Everybody loved him!
After Howard, Jonny Hahn from Seattle:

Jonny is a fixture on the streets of the Pike Street Market in Seattle and on the path at the Country Fair, and the week before Fair at Market. He generally plays beautiful ethereal wordless piano tunes, but given a microphone, he's got plenty of opinions to share in clever rhymes and twinkling piano, taking on everything from Starbucks to the current administration and beyond. He makes some folks uncomfortable, but this is Eugene! Opinion is a Eugenean birthright, and we do political all over the place, so what's not to love?
Not feeling political? How about some tangos and other latin inspired tunes from the Craig Einhorn Trio, plus a killer reggae version of Greensleeves (soon to be posted on YouTube).

And were travelling the globe not enough, how about some time travel as well? The Gaye Lee Russell Band was so much fun, as Gaye Lee channelled Janis Joplin in tribute. An excellent end to a fun day.

This week the Oregon Country Fair is on, but we'll still be at Market. I'll pop out there tomorrow and have a fun Fair day, then come back in for a fun Market day. More on that after it occurs!
